Worked Example: League — 4-Team Season
Scenario
A padel club runs a 4-team league season. Each team has a squad of players. Teams play a single round-robin: every team plays every other team once. Each tie (matchup between two teams) consists of 2 rubbers(doubles matches). Points are awarded: 3 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss. The team with the most points after all ties wins the league.
Step 1: Create the League Tournament
- Dashboard → New Tournament
- Select League tournament type
- Name: “Club League 2026”, Sport: Padel
- League tournaments have a dedicated League tab instead of Rounds/Draws
Step 2: Create Squad Teams
- Go to Teams tab and create 4 squad teams:
| Team | Squad Players |
|---|---|
| Eagles | Alex, Anna, Andy, Alice |
| Falcons | Ben, Bella, Bob, Bianca |
| Hawks | Carlos, Carla, Chris, Chloe |
| Owls | Dan, Diana, Dave, Dora |
Squad teams allow you to pick different lineups for each tie. In this example, each team has 4 players, so the captain picks 2 pairs per tie from the squad.
Step 3: Configure the League
- In the League tab, set up:
- Format: Single round-robin (each team plays every other team once)
- Rubbers per tie: 2 (two doubles matches per team matchup)
- Points system: Win = 3 pts, Draw = 1 pt, Loss = 0 pts
Step 4: Generate the Ties
- Click Generate Schedule
- The system creates all ties — 6 ties in a 4-team single round-robin:
| Week | Home | Away | Rubbers |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Eagles | Falcons | 2 |
| 1 | Hawks | Owls | 2 |
| 2 | Falcons | Hawks | 2 |
| 2 | Owls | Eagles | 2 |
| 3 | Eagles | Hawks | 2 |
| 3 | Falcons | Owls | 2 |
Step 5: Score the Ties
Each tie has 2 rubbers (doubles matches). The team that wins more rubbers wins the tie.
Example — Eagles vs Falcons:
- Rubber 1: Eagles pair wins 6-4, 6-3
- Rubber 2: Falcons pair wins 6-2, 7-5
- Tie result: 1–1 draw → each team gets 1 point
Example — Hawks vs Owls:
- Rubber 1: Hawks win 6-3, 6-4
- Rubber 2: Hawks win 6-2, 6-1
- Tie result: 2–0 Hawks win → Hawks get 3 points, Owls 0
Step 6: The League Table
As ties are scored, the table updates live:
| # | Team | P | W | D | L | Rubbers W | Rubbers L | Pts |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Eagles | 3 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 5 | 1 | 7 |
| 2 | Hawks | 3 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 4 | 2 | 6 |
| 3 | Falcons | 3 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 3 | 4 |
| 4 | Owls | 3 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 0 | 6 | 0 |
P = ties played, W/D/L = win/draw/loss, Pts = league points (3 for win, 1 for draw).
Step 7: Complete the Season
After all 6 ties are scored, the Eagles top the table with 7 points and win Club League 2026.
