Categories
Categories let you split your tournament into separate divisions — by skill level, age group, gender, or any custom grouping. Each category has its own registration status, player list, and standings. This is the recommended way to run multiple concurrent divisions within a single tournament.
Kategori memungkinkan Anda membagi turnamen menjadi divisi terpisah — berdasarkan tingkat keahlian, kelompok umur, jenis kelamin, atau pengelompokan khusus lainnya. Setiap kategori memiliki status pendaftaran, daftar pemain, dan klasemen sendiri.
Creating a Category
- Go to the Categories tab in your tournament admin panel
- Click Add Category
- Enter a name (e.g. "Beginner", "Advanced", "Men's Open")
- Optionally set a max players limit
- Save — the category appears as a card with its own tabs
Per-Category Registration Status
Each category has its own independent registration status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Open | Players can register for this category. The default for new categories. |
| Paused | Registration is temporarily suspended. Existing entries remain but no new ones are accepted. |
| Closed | Registration is permanently closed. Use this when a category is full or finalized. |
You can change the status at any time from the category card. This gives you fine-grained control — for example, close the Advanced category once it fills up while keeping Beginner open.
Adding Players to a Category
There are three ways to add players:
- Self-registration — when registration is open, players can request to join a specific category from the public tournament page. They see the available categories and pick one.
- Manual add — in the Categories tab, click Add Players on a category card. Select from the tournament's confirmed participants.
- Bulk import — use the Import button to add many players at once. You can import from a CSV or paste a list of names/emails. This is especially useful for tournaments with pre-registered players from an external system.
For fixed-partner doubles categories, the Add Players action becomes Add Pairs — you pick Player 1 and Player 2 together to form a fixed team.
Category Standings
Each category has its own independent standings. The Standings sub-tab on a category card shows the leaderboard scoped to just that category's players and matches. Category standings follow the same sorting rules as the main tournament standings (Points, Wins, or Both mode).
Key Rules
- A player can only be in one category per tournament
- Categories work independently — matches and rounds are still global; categories filter the participants and standings views
- Removing a player from a category does not remove them from the tournament
- You can add categories at any time while the tournament is in Draft or Registration status
