Creating a Tournament
Creating a tournament is a 3-step wizard: pick a type, fill in the details, then set the schedule. Tournaments start in Draft status — they are not visible to players until you open registration, so take your time.
Step 1 — Tournament Type
Start by choosing the kind of tournament you want to run. Each type is a card with a small diagram; picking one pre-selects a sensible sport and sends you to the right tab after creation (Matches or Draws).
| Type | What it does |
|---|---|
| 🔄 Americano | Rotate partners every round, individual points (Padel) |
| 🎯 Mexicano | Partners paired by score from round 2 onward (Padel) |
| 🏆 Knockout | Single-elimination bracket — lose once and you're out (Padel / Tennis) |
| ⚡ Pools + Knockout | Group-stage round-robin, then top players advance to a bracket (Padel / Tennis) |
| 🎾 Round Robin | Fixed teams play every other team at least once (Padel / Tennis) |
| 🏟️ League | Squad teams play fixtures across matchdays; football-style points table (Padel / Tennis) |
| 🛠️ Custom | Mix formats freely — configure each round independently |
The type is a starting point, not a lock-in. It sets the default sport and which tab you land on; you can still configure rounds and draws however you like afterwards. See Tournament Types for a deeper explanation of each.
Step 2 — Details
This step collects everything about the event. It is grouped into a few sections.
Club
Select the club that will host the tournament — only clubs where you are an owner or admin appear. If you belong to just one, it is pre-selected. No club yet? A Create Club link appears here.
Tournament Plan (free-plan clubs only)
This section is shown only when the selected club is on the free plan. Clubs with an active paid subscription skip it entirely.
| Option | When to use |
|---|---|
| Free | Up to 16 players, up to 2 tournaments per month |
| Buy Credit | Pay per tournament via Midtrans. Set your expected player count to see the price, complete payment, and you return here to finish |
| Use Credit | Apply a credit you have already purchased (shows each credit's player cap and expiry) |
Basics
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tournament Name | Yes | E.g. "Jakarta Americano Open 2026" |
| Description | No | Rich text — rules, format notes, prizes |
| Sport | Yes | Padel or Tennis — affects which round formats are available later |
| Tournament Date | No | Start and end date. End must be on or after Start. Can be changed while in Draft |
Two toggles control how participation works:
- Auto-Confirm Umpires (default: on) — umpires are confirmed the moment they accept their invitation. Turn it off to review each umpire individually.
- Manual Tournament (default: off) — add players and umpires by name without requiring Recourt accounts. Useful for walk-in events.
Venue
All venue fields are optional and can be filled in later. They become publicly visible once registration opens.
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Arena / Club Name | Gelora Bung Karno Padel Court |
| Province | DKI Jakarta |
| City / Regency | Jakarta Selatan |
| Street Address | Jl. Pintu I GBLA, Senayan |
| Google Maps Link | Paste a maps.app.goo.gl short link |
Step 3 — Schedule
The final step sets up your courts and playing times. It builds a live preview so you can see how much play your day actually fits before you commit.
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Courts | How many courts (1–20). One court record is created per number, ready in the Courts tab |
| Tournament days | Auto-set from your start/end dates; you can override it (1–30). One day record is created per day |
| Daily start / Daily end | The window each day runs — used to size the capacity preview |
| Match duration | 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, or 120 minutes per match |
Capacity Preview
Below the schedule fields, a court × time matrix shows how many match slots fit in a day given your courts, daily window, and match duration. A summary line totals the hours, courts, and slots. For multi-day tournaments, use the day pager ("Day 1 of N") to step through each day. The preview updates instantly as you adjust any field — it is a planning aid, not the real schedule (you generate actual matches later).
After Creating
Your tournament is saved as Draft, courts and days are created, and you land on the tab that matches your chosen type — Draws for Knockout and Pools + Knockout, League for League, otherwise Matches. You can edit every detail while in Draft, then open registration when you are ready.
